Cuisine: Italian
Keyword: pizza
Servings: 8
Ingredients
1loaffrench bread
½cuppizza sauceor more, to taste
4-8ozpepperonieyeball it
½lbground beef
1cupmozzarella cheese
chopped veggiesthese are optional; we like to use bell peppers
salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
As the oven preheats, chop any veggies you plan to use and cook beef over medium-high heat.
While the meat cooks, slice your bread lengthwise and place it on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper (easy cleanup, for the win!) Toast in the oven for 5-8 minutes, then remove and set aside.
Drain beef and set aside, then season veggies with salt and pepper, and sautee in the same pan you used for the meat.
Once the veggies are done, it's time to assemble your pizza.
Spread tomato sauce on each slice of bread, then top with cheese, veggies, and pepperoni. Add an additional layer of cheese, then place in the oven to bake for 5 minutes, or until cheese bubbles and bread begins to brown.
Remove from the oven, serve immediately, and enjoy!
Notes
Here's one hack to make your pepperoni go even further! Slice them in half (or even quarter them) before you add them to your pizza.
