Oven-Baked Rice

This oven-baked rice recipe is so easy, filling, and CHEAP. It's a perfect shelf cooking go-to!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1-2 Tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 ¾ cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Pour rice into an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Pour melted butter or oil over rice and stir.
  • Pour boiling water over rice, sprinkle salt, and mix until combined.
  • Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed and rice is soft.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve!

Notes

This works for brown rice, too! You can easily modify the recipe.
  • Use 1 ½ cup brown rice, 2 ½ cups boiling water, and the same amounts of butter and salt.
  • Bake for an hour at the same temperature or until all liquid is gone and rice is soft.
